April 3rd 2010 Cruise-In

The Cumberland River Cruisers held our April Cruise-In, it was the first of 2010. As the day began, the weather forecast was for rain and this may have held the attendance down slightly, but there was still a good turnout. The rainy weather moved on before noon and by the afternoon even the clouds were gone, it was a perfect day for the cruise-in. Members began arriving a little after 2 PM and even a few nonmembers from out of town came driving in to show their cars and trucks. We had a few members pay their dues, buy shirts and a new member, Kent Cooper signed up while the cruise-in was happening. Door prizes were given away and the prize money for the 50/50 drawing was awarded. There are several pictures below of cars and trucks that you might not have seen before. You can see all the pictures by following this LINK.

In total, there were 27 vehicles brought out for our first cruise-in of the season and it seemed as if everyone had fun.

April 29th Meeting

The CRC club meeting was held at 6 PM. All officers were present and the minutes from the previous meeting were read.

The main topic of discussion was the cruise-in during the 4th of July Celebration in the park. Several aspects of the event were discussed, including the date, lettering on the dash plaques, starting time, ending time, trophies, and selling items. The event's date has been changed to July 3rd by the Chamber of Commerce. Our car show will begin signing in vehicles at 10 AM. Dash plaques are being ordered for the first 100 cars to sign in. A trophy will be given for the entry that comes from the farthest away. The Best of Show and other awards will be voted on by the people attending the event. The trophies will be awarded at 4 PM and entries will leave the grounds by 6 PM.

After the meeting ended, several people walked outside and talked for a little while before breaking up and leaving.

I took a couple pictures of President Phillip Davidson and a Mustang he's been working on.
