Burkesville Christmas Parade
The rain last weekend had forced the Burkesville Christmas Parade to be
postponed until 5:30 PM Saturday December 18th. As we rode towards town
to watch the parade, we heard WKYR announcing the events surrounding the
parade. They had Girl Scouts singing carols and were also letting kids
talk on the radio to tell what they wanted for Christmas. The Christmas
Parade started with the police cars flashing their lights and blaring
their sirens.
The
Cumberland County High School Band was the first group that marched past
and the kids were playing Christmas songs as they went around the
square. Frosty the Snowman came trotting along the edge of the road
saying "Merry Christmas" to the kids along the way.
Several
vehicles came past with a couple of them drove by CRC club members. Then
some floats were pulled through town and around the square.

The
last thing in the parade was a fire truck with Santa Claus on top waving
to all the kids and his elves throwing out candy. Santa had a microphone
so everyone could hear his Christmas wish of "Merry Christmas to all."
The
membership of the Cumberland River Cruisers wish everyone a
Merry
Christmas and Happy
New Year!

A Message From Secretary Julie Waits
We wish everyone of our fellow cruise-in members a very Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year.
We also wish to thank each of you for your
thoughts and prayers and also for the generous monetary donation. It is
very much appreciated and very helpful during this time. I am continuing
with my treatments until the end of December and then will have to wait
3 to 4 weeks to have another scan and see if the treatments have helped.
Again
- Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and May the Lord Bless each of you
for the coming year.
Julie and Sam Waits
